First Time Conference Attendee Scholarship

FIRST TIME CONFERENCE ATTENDEE SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship offers funding for attendance at the annual NACAS South Conference for selected FIRST TIME ATTENDEES. Applications are only accepted from employees of colleges or universities that are in the NACAS South region. This region includes the states of Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, and South Carolina. If you have attended a NACAS national conference (C3X) in the past but have not attended the NACAS South annual conference, you are still eligible for consideration for this scholarship. Eligibility criteria is as follows:

Currently employed by an institution of higher education that is located within the NACAS South region. Business partners are not eligible to receive scholarship.
Have not previously attended a NACAS South Annual Conference (Regional).
Scholarships will be awarded based on weighted selection criteria. Strategic preference may be awarded to individuals with less than 5 years of experience in higher education auxiliary services, individuals of new member institutions that became a new member of NACAS after January 1, 2019, and/or Individuals of targeted non-member institution in the NACAS-South region.
Applicants submit their own composition for consideration. Nominations will not accepted for this scholarship award.

AWARD INFORMATION: Recipient will receive:

Full conference registration for each grant recipient.
Up to four hotel nights per each recipient at the official conference hotel (standard or base accommodations).
In the event that a grant recipient is selected from an institution that is not a member of NACAS, annual dues for their respective institution will be waived or paid for by NACAS South for one year.
Grants are non-transferable. Only the grant recipient selected may use the grant, and the grant is only valid for the 2020 NACAS South Annual Conference which will be held in Dallas, TX.
There is no cash value for this grant and the grant is awarded as-is.
If a grant recipient cannot use the grant, they must notify NACAS South in writing prior to March 15, 2020. Failure to notify NACAS South can result in ineligibility for future grants from NACAS South.
All applicants are responsible for reserving their own accommodations for the conference via the online registration system. The grant will cover the least costly room rate for up to four nights during the conference April 5-8, 2019. The recipient is responsible for all charges that exceed this rate.
Travel expenses and expenses for meals are not included. These expenses and all incidental expenses will be the responsibility of the grant recipient.
